When I was a baby my dad and mom drove along the Pony Express National Historic Trail in Nebraska. We stopped at a couple of places that were on the trail.

4/1977 - Homestead National Monument of America
When I was a baby my dad and mom took me to the Homestead. I don't have pictures or anything to talk about. This was my first park I went too. To start my National Park journey.
My dad did tell me that they had a friend work there during that time in April 1977.
One of the first claims under the Homestead Act of 1862 was filed for this land; includes Freeman School.
FREE LAND was the Cry!
