4/4/2024 - Old Trails Arch Bridge (Route 66)

 Old Trails Arch Bridge is a National Register of Historic Places. Why? The road use to be apart of route 66 going from California. This bridge was in the movie The Grapes of Wrath. After the route 66 got change to a different road they changed the bridge to a former railroad bridge but now carries a Pacific Gas and Electric natural gas pipeline across the Colorado River.

4/3/2024 - AT&SF #3759 Locomotive (Kingman)

  This AT&SF steam engine #3759. In 1883, Kingman was established as a railroad stop, Kingman was a water stop. This “Mountain Type” coal-burning steam locomotive was built in 1927. In 1941, it was converted to use oil. It retired in 1953, having traveled over 2,000,000 miles. Passenger service from Los Angeles to Kansas City. The train is part of National Register of Historic Places.

7/29/2021 - "America's Main Street"

  Pennsylvania Ave. is America's Main Street in Washington DC.  This unique site preserve's locations related to the creation of the Federal City, Presidential Inaugurations and historically significant events. My mom and me walked to Pennsylvania Ave and 10th St. from our hotel.  This unit is part of the National Mall and Memorial Parks. Here are some of the buildings along the Ave. This was the Old Post Office Tower and now it is Trump International Hotel. Pennsylvania Avenue (U.S. National Park Service) Here is my scrapbook page.

4/3/2024 - Desert Power & Water Co. Electric Power Plant (Kingman)

This use to be the Desert Power and Water House building located in Kingman, AZ. It opened on July 31, 1907 and its the oldest reinforced concrete structure in Arizona. They used the building has a power and water for the town of Kingman. Also supplied the area mines with power to operate their hoists and pumps. It lasted 1909 to 1938. When the building was closed the town used it for other things but in 1997, they opened it has a visitor center for the town and Route 66. This is part of the National Register of Historic Places.  

4/3/2024 - Kingman (Route 66)

  In April of 2024, me and my family went on a awesome road trip along the Route 66 in Arizona.  Our first stop was Kingman, AZ. This is the visitor center for all your route 66 stuff.  There are two little stores and a museum upstairs, 120 W. Beale Street.  There is also a little area that has a display of the man who started of route 66 Arizona.  His name is Angel. This is Steam Engine #3759 Locomotive.  This was used to take people from California to Illinois.  This is across the street from the visitor center, Beale Street and Andy Devine. Here is my mom and me in front of the Kingman Route 66 sign.  It is located in the parking lot of the visitor center. Around town we saw a few buildings on route 66.  They were water tanks, Hotel Beale and the Kingman train station. 10/4/2024 - My #120th Park

Capulin Volcano National Monument is located in New Mexico.  This is my 120th park to my list.  I went here with my dad.  We drove up the to the volcano crater's rim.  It was a clear day, so we got to see a lot of different mountains.  You can walk down into the crater that there is a trail you can walk. 6/27/2017 - Birmingham Civil Rights National Monument

  On 6/27/2017, my mom and me went to Birmingham Civil Rights National Monument located in Birmingham, Alabama.  For this park there are seven stops.  We stopped at three of them.  They were the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and Kelly Ingram Park. The first stop that we went was the 16th Street Baptist Church.  This is a beautiful church.  We got to go inside and see it.  We heard the history of this church.  On September 15, 1963, there was a bombing that killed four black girls.  It was a act of the white supremacist terrorism. Four members of the Ku Klux Klan planted at least 15 sticks of dynamite with a timing device at the front of the steps of the church. The girl's names were Addie, Carol, Carole, and Cynthia.  Rest In Peace We went down to the basement of the church and a saw gallery of pictures of the riots that happened in the 60's.  While we were there, I remember a lady talking about ...

3/4/2024 - Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail

  This is a new little spot that represents the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail here in Tucson, Arizona. This is called Anza Trail Cultural History Park near the Death and Blind school.  This is where the Juan Bautista de Anza Trail and Santa Cruz River connect. This is just a little area where they have a walkway or a bikeway along the Santa Cruz River.  They do have little signs that have different items that are represented during the time.  There are a couple of areas to sit.
